inspired
If you were to ask anyone who knows me, they would tell you that I am inspired by knowledge. I love asking questions, understanding how the world works, exploring and thinking about things that I don’t understand. Complexity, chaos, information and the way patterns and numbers underpin everything we do are constant sources of inspiration.
I’m also fascinated by people, what makes them tick, why we are different and how those differences shape who we are, which placed me squarely in the middle of neuroscience, genetics and drug development, where I have consulted on projects for companies like Merck, IDT and small biotech startups like Greenlight Biosciences.
When I am not actively peering into my microscope or tinkering with computer code or electronics, I deeply enjoy teaching and mentoring. Currently, I teach Anatomy and Physiology II to health majors at Des Moines Area Community College in Ankeny, IA. One of my greatest joys is imparting the knowledge I have to others, deepening their own understanding of the beauty around us.
